Helloooo summer!
July will be a nice slow month for me as I'm on holibops in Co. Donegal, whoop whoop…
I'll be returning to Kildare in time to attend the Purple Llama Market held in Lucan on July 29th (last Saturday of the Month 11am-4pm) with all the other great crafters you will find there.
August ramps up with lots of workshops and it is“Craft Month. So I thought it would be remiss of me not to try to organize a “beginners felt making taster session” … This will take place on Sunday 20th August from 1pm-4pm at the lovely studio and shop – Brookwood Pottery in Marino Mart, Fairview Dublin.
You can secure your place on directly on my website.
This half-day class will offer you an insight into wet felt making. You will learn some skills like making a bobble. Making a rope and trying out 3D felt making, by making a small pod. I will also show and hopefully inspire you- to try out these different techniques.
How might you apply these in your creative development. Are you a TY student, going on to study Art at Leaving? - this would give you a new skill, textiles and sculpture combined!
Are you starting out on a PLC course in September? Perhaps putting together, a portfolio?... This taster session might inspire you for projects to include that will set you apart.
Or are you just looking for something new, a new craft … wet felting is very sensory, learn to explore your own creativity and try out this taster.
If you are about Kildare in August during "Heritage Week"( 12th-19th) with the kids- what about 2 workshops in Athy library on August 12th and another in Maynooth on the 18th… Exploring a heritage craft…FE|LT MAKING
These library events are FREE!!! Kids learn, you get an hour off and they all go away with a little something they have made!... book directly with each of the respective libraries.
Hope to see some of you at these events... enjoy the summer.
